Saturday night Plaxico Burress, wr of the NY Giants shot himself in the right thigh in a night club. Earlier that day the Giants told Burress that he would not play due to his hamstring injury that has plagued him all season. While the injury is not life threatning, the distraction factor for the Giants remains high with their all-pro talent Burress. Plaxico has been a distraction ever since his rookie campaign in 2000.

Amazing in all of this the Giants just keep winning. Burress has complained about virtually everything this year and the NY Giants just keep plugging along. Eli Manning has stepped up this year and become the team leader everyone thought he could be when they drafted him. This has made Plaxico's talents and skills less important for a team that is looking to repeat as the superbowl champions. The only fear for the Giants now related to Burress is that he starts bringing his teammates into his stupidity - this could become even too big a distraction for a team that is playing at a very high level.

I believe they should release him and get the distraction out of camp. The team nor the players deserve having a cancer like Burress remain on the team.
