Rookie Football Cards Pre 1950
The football card era truly began in 1948 when both Bowman and Leaf released their first production of football cards. The vintage era of football cards had a unique character that has not been found in football cards since that era. The manufacturers of that time sat down on a kitchen table and planned out how they wanted the cards to look and feel.
In the early days, a few of the legends of the NFL stand out as being the marquis players of the NFL. In 1948 slinging Sammy Baugh made an explosion on the scene. This quarterback defined that forward pass in so much a part of the modern day game. His premium football card rookie is characterized by brilliant colors and flare, much like the player that defined this era.
We carry a large selection of these superstars of the vintage NFL era.
