Some players in the NFL seize the opportunity to improve and make a name for themselves. Others simply take their paycheck and punch in to work. San Diego Chargers wide-receiver Vincent Jackson falls into the former category, steadily improving over the course of his career into arguably his teams top offensive threat.

It would be easy for Jackson to have settled after becoming a 1000 yard receiver, but as he has matured on the field, his relationship with San Diego Chargers quarterback Phillip Rivers has continued to blossom. Jackson has become his primary target in their offense, even with weapons such as Antonio Gates at tight-end and running-backs Ladanian Tomlinson and Darren Sproles continuing their strong play.

But the Chargers offense is one that compliments all of the pieces that are put into play. Because of the way those players have kept defenses off-balance, the 6’5 230 pound Vincent Jackson has matured into a big play-maker. He followed up his career-best 2008 season by posting all-new career highs once again in 2009 with 68 receptions for 1167 yards and 9 touchdowns, earning himself a trip to Miami for the 2010 NFL Pro-Bowl.

Upon arriving in South Beach, Jackson was ready to put the disappointment of the Chargers recent playoff loss to the New York Jets behind him, and focus on putting on his best performance in Miami. Jackson was one of the best players on a field full of superstars, as he caught 7 pass for 122 yards and a big 3rd quarter touchdown reception that helped bring the AFC back from a deficit to end up defeating the NFC.

Vincent Jackson has finally proven himself as a game-changer, and is no longer just a lanky receiver but a polished, physical wide-out that can be a force for the San Diego offense for years to come. That is why the Vincent Jackson Rookie Card looks to be gaining value as Jackson continues to set his sights even higher.

Pat White Rookie Card

Pat White is one of the most interesting draft picks of this year's college draft. White is a classic dual threat quarterback from West Virginia. At West Virginia, White was impressive to say the least. His legs and arm helped the Mountaineers to 4 straight bowl games including some very impressive wins.

The question becomes will this translate in the pros? The Dolphins selected White in the second round, hoping that he could become the next Michael Vick like quarterback. While many didn't like Vick, nobody could argue that the Falcons were successful during his short tenure. White gives a team with speed and one accustomed to running the Wild Cat offense a true double threat. With out question Pat White will get some opportunity this year to show off that arm and leg, but the question remains will he make an impact.

His rookie card then makes an intriguing purchase. I like the upside of White and thus the upside of his rookie card. Of all the rookie quarterbacks in this years draft, White is perhaps has the most upside of all of them.

Donovan McNabb Rookie Card Under-valued!

Donovan McNabb is once again leading his team deep into the NFL playoffs. All too often we forget how great a player McNabb has been with the Eagles over the past decade. Unless a player wins several superbowls our society often discredits them as a great leader or player. We forget Donovan McNabb led the Eagles to 4 straight NFC championship games and 1 superbowl. Except for one year when Terrell Owens was on the team, he has done it with far below average talent at wide receiver than 90% of the teams in the playoffs. Despite this McNabb has thrown for close to 30,000 yards receiving and 200 touchdowns.

McNabb a graduate of Syracuse University is the second best player to ever come out of that school next to Jim Brown. Known for his ability to run when he entered the professional ranks, Donovan has posessed the ability to make plays with his feet ever since he was a rookie. As his career progressed, he has become deadly accurate in the pocket and one of the most feared competitors in the NFL. With many of his graded rookie cards still under $20, this future hall of fame player's rookie card are grossly under-valued. It is a perfect opportunity to buy his cards, they are surely going to have a short term climb in value after this latest playoff performance.

DeAngelo Williams Rookie Football Card is Skyrocketing

If you are an NFL fan, it is impossible to not notice the breakout season of the Carolina Panters, DeAngelo Williams. Consider this in a split backfield Williams has scored 18 touchdowns and rushed for over 1300 yards. However, what might be more impressive is the rate at which he is scoring touchdowns in his last few contests. Eleven of his 18 touchdowns have come in the past 4 weeks; this is a rate that we have not seen since Tomlinson scored his record breaking touchdown performance of a few years ago.

For card collectors this presents a unique opportunity to make a good investment buying the DeAngelo Williams rookie card. If Williams can continue at this rate his rookie card is certain to skyrocket. We forget all too often how talented a player is when they come out of college. DeAngelo Williams was the leading rusher in college history when he came out just a couple of seasons ago. He has that breakaway speed that is needed to become a great NFL running back. Since his first couple of seasons were uneventful in the NFL his trading cards have not gone up in value too high. Great bargains can be found with the Deangelo Williams rookie card - even the graded cards can be found a relatively good values.
